It is important to ensure that the overall deployment of ITS in Malaysia is not fragmentized. The Federal Government will provide the leadership through the establishment of a Malaysia ITS Bureau (MIB). The MIB is expected to be responsible for the following:

• Coordinate all ITS activities in the country
• Act as a national forum for resolving differences in standards and approaches
• Develop and implement the National ITS Policy
• Set standards for inter-operability
• Coordinate training and outreach program
• Implement the maintenance program

Efforts are being made to make the Malaysia ITS Burueau a reality.
