The ITS Master Plan for Malaysia has been created with the inputs from previous studies ("ITS Strategic Plan for Malaysia: A Way Forward" and "ITS Master Plan Study for Malaysia") and needs assessment that reflects the current policies, master plans and stakeholder needs in the country.

It is a valuable tool for future planning and operation of the integrated ITS deployments / strategies throughout the nation. It should be used by lead and supporting agencies in the future planning, design and implementation of individual ITS projects to support the stakeholders vision and goals in accordance with the guidelines and standards set by the ITS Architecture. It is is HPU's goal to review and update information on ITS Malaysia on a regular basis to ensure it is kept current with the Malaysia's ever changing transportation needs.
